We live in a fallen world and as such the environment of this world is hostile to the things of God. The majority of messages coming out of this world are opposite to the messages given to us by God through his word.
This results in a person that wants to stay true to God and his word, being ridiculed and looked at in a negative way. This could be from your family, friends, work colleagues as well as strangers. However Jesus warned us that this would happen:
Mat 10:27 What I tell you in darkness you must speak in the daylight, and what is whispered in your ear you must shout from the housetops.
Mat 10:28 Stop being afraid of those who kill the body but can’t kill the soul. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy both body and soul in hell.
Mat 10:29 “Two sparrows are sold for a penny, aren’t they? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s permission.
Mat 10:30 Indeed, even the hairs on your head have all been counted!
Mat 10:31 So stop being afraid. You are worth more than a bunch of sparrows.”
Mat 10:32 Acknowledging the Messiah
“Therefore, everyone who acknowledges me before people I, too, will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.
Mat 10:33 But whoever denies me before people I, too, will deny before my Father in heaven.”
Mat 10:34 Not Peace, but Division
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword!
Mat 10:35 I came to turn
‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Mat 10:36 A person’s enemies will include members of his own family.’
Mat 10:37 The Cost of Discipleship
“The one who loves his father or mother more than me isn’t worthy of me, and the one who loves a son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.
Mat 10:38 The one who doesn’t take up his cross and follow me isn’t worthy of me.
Mat 10:39 The one who finds his life will lose it, and the one who loses his life because of me will find it.”
Jesus also said
Joh 15:18 The World’s Hatred
“If the world hates you, you should realize that it hated me before you.
Joh 15:19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as one of its own. But because you do not belong to the world and I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you.
Joh 15:20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
Joh 15:21 They will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.
So how can we get through and progress in such a negative environment? It is by staying focused no matter what, trusting God for what he has said and believing God for what he can do.
It is about having faith in the unseen so that eventually what is unseen will be visible. Gaining faith strength from the reading and studying oo the word of God, fellowshipping with other believers. Turning down the volume of this world so that we can hear the voice of God!
Heb 12:2 fixing our attention on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of the faith, who, in view of the joy set before him, endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
A person outside of Christ will not understand some of the things you do and it does not matter how much you try to convince them, they will not get it and you will only end up frustrating yourself and raising your blood pressure.
1Co 2:14 A person who isn’t spiritual doesn’t accept the things of God’s Spirit, for they are nonsense to him. He can’t understand them because they are spiritually evaluated.
So be prepared to be called a fool, naïve, unrealistic, brainwashed and deluded, also be ready to be told that because of your faith in Christ and your moral stand that: You hold people back, your are stopping real advancement, your are inflexible, your are incompatible, you have blinkers on! There can be many more accusations I could put down.
We have to be ready to be fools for Christ because:
1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
This life will be challenging, but I want to encourage you, hold on and do not loose focus, no matter who is speaking negativity into you today. It could be your spouse, your close family member or friend; it could be your work colleague or your neighbor. It does not matter because “all things work together for the good, for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28)
Parallel Business Principles
How can a person be successful in Network Marketing when there is so much negative opinions out there in regards to our industry?
By knowing the truth about the industry. You see there is a lot of ignorance out there based on the fear of others and not the reality of the industry.
Once a person knows the truth, they will do the right activity and when they do the right activity, they will get the right results.
But what about the person who has been building their business for a while and has not had the results they expected. Then they have to be honest with themselves and really evaluate their activity and see if the problem lies with the company, product, training, comp plan or WITH THEM!
Also because of the negative voices, it is important for people to stay plugged in and engaged into the system the company uses, because this will balance out the negativity and keep a person focused.
Negativity will always be there no matter what a person does, so we need to learn how to respond to it and not react because of it.
