So many people have the attitude of, “I will do it tomorrow”, this mindset is the very thing that is stopping their progression. Not one of us is guaranteed tomorrow, therefore we should live each day as if it were our last day and fully utilise our time.
Jesus always maximised his time, he never wasted it, we need to understand that time is the only commodity that once it has gone we will never be able to get it back. In the bible the word Immediately is used over 55 times and in the gospels it is used 41 times, so Jesus did not mess about, when a decision was needed to be made, he made it and when people needed to make a decision he got them to make it also. Jesus always brought the reality of a person's situation to them, so that they could see the value in making a decision and this would cause them to do it. He was never weak with people but always strong and that strength never let him down. He would not be drawn into people's excuses, but he would draw them out of their own excuses: Luke 9: 52- 57 57 While they were walking along the road, a man said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." 58 Jesus told him, "Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest." 59 He told another man, "Follow me."But he said, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." 60 But he told him, "Let the dead bury their own dead. But you go and proclaim the kingdom of God." 61 Still another man said, "I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to those at home." 62 Jesus told him, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God Jesus knew there was work to do and time was of the essence, he had a sense of urgency and because of that, he got people to make a decision quickly. Some people followed him others chose not to, but their negative decisions did not stop Jesus's work. Everyday we have choices to make, “am I going to be obedience to the word of God or not”. If we fall into sin, we have another choice to make, “am I going to repent immediately or not”. You see satan fools people into believing they are so bad that they should not repent because God will not listen, or that they should repent, just do it tomorrow and tomorrow never comes! However Jesus was very clear with regards to a sense of urgency and that message was continued with the other New Testament writers. When Paul was addressing the people in Corinth, he stated: 2Corinthians 6:2 1 Since, then, we are working with God, a we plead with you not to accept God's grace in vain. 2 For he says,"At the right time I heard you, and on a day of salvation I helped you." Listen, now is really the "right time"! Now is the "day of salvation Sometimes the hardest thing for people to do is make a decision, simply because of the fear of the unknown. However fear is one of the greatest tools that satan uses to hold people back, but God has also given us a tool to deal with fear: 1 John 4: 16 – 18 16 We have come to know and rely on the love that God has for us. God is love, and the person who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 This is how love has been perfected among us: we will have confidence on the day of judgment because, during our time in this world, we are just like him. 18 There is no fear where love exists. Rather, perfect love banishes fear, for fear involves punishment, and the person who lives in fear has not been perfected in love. We have one life to live so we need to maximise it redeeming the time because the times are evil. Letting go of the mistakes of the past, looking forward to Jesus who is the author and the finisher of our faith. As Paul say, “pressing toward the mark of the higher calling” which is to be where Jesus is. So seize the time while you have it, because none of us are guaranteed tomorrow! Parallel Business Principals In building our Reliv businesses we have to have a sense of urgency when helping our distributors, because if we do not, not only are we hindering our growth, we are also hindering the grow of the people who join us. To many people get drawn into the excuses of their distributors and out of fear of hurting their feelings, they are afraid to tell them the truth. Also when people sign someone up into the business they are afraid to tell them about the System and the commitment to the System, because they are afraid that if they do that the person will not sign up. We need to understand that strength will never let us down but weakness will kill us every time. There are curtain things a person needs to do in order to be successful in Reliv and if a person is never going to be prepared to do them, then we need to be honest with them and let them know, they will not build a Reliv business. Just like what happened to Jesus, some people will follow you, others will choose not to. However the serious people that stay will not just change their lives but many other people's lives as well. ***************************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv *****************************************
