We have all been given gifts and talents by God and these gifts and talents have not been given to us by accident, we have them for a reason.
We have work to do while we are here and that work is to spread the gospel of the Kingdom and disciple people into citizenship. The reason why the church was given the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was for the power of service (Acts 2) Without God we are limited, but empowered by God, there is nothing we cannot achieve. This is why Paul said “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” (Philippians 4: 13) However we limit ourselves through doubt and unbelief, the moment we take faith out of the equation, we substitute it with fear and fear always bring torment: Heb 11:6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who diligently search for him. 1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. We have to be able to trust God in what we are called to do, knowing that we have been created to do good works in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2: 10) and that God knows the plans that he has for us (Jeremiah 29:11) Sometimes when we look at things through our natural eyes, we cannot see how the thing is going to work out or what the next move is. However it is at these times where God wants us to trust him: Psa 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way. At some point our faith will be tested and the way we respond to that test is going to determine how we develop in that area. You see our gifts are given freely and not taken back by God, however if we have a gift, but never take it out of the box because of fear, that gift is useless to us. Rom 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. God wants us to use our gifts in what we a called to do and to understand that our unboxed gift will always make room for us in what we are called to do. It is not about your feelings because your feelings can lie to you (Gideon felt inadequate because he was the youngest of his family in the smallest tribe in Israel, but God saw him as a might man of valour! Judges 6). It is about what you are called to do. The enemy will use fear to paralyse your calling because he knows, once you truly know who you are in Christ, once you understand what the benefits of Kingdom citizenship is, you will take the gates of the enemy! Our lives are meant to count being part of the body of Christ and our Kingdom citizenship is not meant to be a passive one. As we walk in our calling and make our lives a living epistle so that people do not just hear what we say but see the results in our life, then the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven will be practically demonstrated and the people outside of the kingdom, when they understand the power, life and future they can potentially have as Kingdom citizens, will rush in! Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist till now, the kingdom of heaven is forcing its way in, and men of force take it. Our lives should speak of who we are. Do you know what you are called to do? Are you suppressing it out of fear? Are you ready to operate in it? Are you apathetic about it all? These are all really questions we need to ask ourselves. Parallel Business Principles Your gifts and God given talents can be used in all areas of your life, because every part of our lives can be ministry, this is why the Bible says, when we work, we should work like onto the Lord. This means we trust that God will open up the right doors as we work our Jobs, build our businesses or if we are studying. If we have this knowledge then we will always put God first in all that we do and if we do that then God is faithful to his promises: Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. The danger is when we do the opposite and put God in a little box that we only reach into when we want something. Our gifts and talents are there to glorify God, even in our business and not to feed into our egos. So let us never forget the giver of the gifts, but lets us always put things in the right perspective. ****************************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ******************************************
