We are all individuals and unique in our design, God took time to create us. So it is important for us to recognize who we are and understand our purpose so that we can live a productive fulfilling life.
God calls us specifically to do certain things, however whether or not we hear the call is another thing.. There is a big different between being Called and being chosen. God calls us to do certain things and he equips us to do the thing he is calling us to do. However we have a choice to make and that choice will determine whether or not we are chosen: Mat 22:1 Jesus again used parables in talking to the people. Mat 22:2 "The Kingdom of heaven is like this. Once there was a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son. Mat 22:3 He sent his servants to tell the invited guests to come to the feast, but they did not want to come. Mat 22:4 So he sent other servants with this message for the guests: 'My feast is ready now; my steers and prize calves have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast!' Mat 22:5 But the invited guests paid no attention and went about their business: one went to his farm, another to his store, Mat 22:6 while others grabbed the servants, beat them, and killed them. Mat 22:7 The king was very angry; so he sent his soldiers, who killed those murderers and burned down their city. Mat 22:8 Then he called his servants and said to them, 'My wedding feast is ready, but the people I invited did not deserve it. Mat 22:9 Now go to the main streets and invite to the feast as many people as you find.' Mat 22:10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, good and bad alike; and the wedding hall was filled with people. Mat 22:11 "The king went in to look at the guests and saw a man who was not wearing wedding clothes. Mat 22:12 'Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' the king asked him. But the man said nothing. Mat 22:13 Then the king told the servants, 'Tie him up hand and foot, and throw him outside in the dark. There he will cry and gnash his teeth.' " Mat 22:14 And Jesus concluded, "Many are invited, but few are chosen." Entering into the God’s kingdom is ultimately a choice, God has made the access to it straight and clear and he is not dragging any body in. Christianity is a choice, that is why NO ONE is born a Christian, however when we accept the work of the cross we are transfer from the kingdom of darkness and are Born Again as a citizen in the kingdom of light: 1Pe 2:7 This stone is of great value for you that believe; but for those who do not believe: "The stone which the builders rejected as worthless turned out to be the most important of all." 1Pe 2:8 And another scripture says, "This is the stone that will make people stumble, the rock that will make them fall." They stumbled because they did not believe in the word; such was God's will for them. 1Pe 2:9 But you are the chosen race, the King's priests, the holy nation, God's own people, chosen to proclaim the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light. So our first choice is to answer the call of salvation and once we answer that call and are Kingdom citizen, the next choice is to answer the call of service. Your gift will make room for you and what I mean by that is, God has given us all gifts and talents, which he intends to use to glorify him and help spread the good news of the kingdom. However we still have to accept the call for service. Many times we make excuses why we cannot do this and that and many times it is just because it is inconvenient. However a life of service is never convenient. So again ultimately whether or not we a chosen to complete a specific task that we have been predestined to do, will be down to the choice that we make. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. A good example of this in the Bible is Jonah who tried to run from the call of God but ultimately made the choice to obey the call that God had for him. So what has God called you to? Don’t let it take you being swallowed by a fish to make you wake up! Parallel Business Principles God says very clearly in his word that he will bless the work of our hands when we are living in obedience to him. One of the instructions in the book of Proverbs is to be diligent in what we are doing and not to be lazy. We are to increase our knowledge in the area we are working in and then God’s wisdom will show us how to apply that knowledge. So if that is the case, then if our businesses are not being blessed then we have to be honest with ourselves and see what areas we are falling short in. Instead of doing that, we tend to make excuses and sometimes even super spiritualize it. However, God is very clear in his word and that is, we will reap what we sow. God has give you gifts and talents, that you can use even in your Reliv Business, but it is a choice whether or not you do the work. *************************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ***************************************
