We live in a world that places more value on happiness than faithfulness and committed. So people only do things that make them feel happy and if it doesn’t then they move away from it.
If all a person lives for is to be happy, then they will not be able to fulfill the role or reach the potential God has for them. God knows that something far more powerful than happiness is Joy, because if a person operates in joy, then even in a negative situation , that person can still function. Sometimes we go through situations in life that weakness us and can be so bad that we think we can’t even make it through. Now the world would say you have every right to be depressed but don’t worry because if the depression gets too much, we have some medication that will be able to help you and a counselor you can speak to. However God says something completely difference: Firstly his says Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength Secondly he says Philippians 4: 4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus Thirdly he says Matthew 11;28 "Come to me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest. Place my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble, a and you will find rest for your souls. You see we have to understand the difference between the counsel of this world and the counsel of God: Psalms 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Many people sign up to things like marriages, projects, ministries, friendships, etc but when things get a bit challenging they quit. They start believing the counsel of this world rather than the counsel of God. One of the saddest statistics out there is that the divorce rate in the church is no different to the divorce rate in the world. We are meant to lights to the world so there should be a big difference. For better or worse means just that, this is why when someone signs up to a marriage they had better fully understand what they are signing up for because it is a covenant not just between the man and the women, but also with God. You see faithfulness is God’s requirement and fruitfulness is his reward. If everything was always perfect, how could and person demonstrate faithfulness and commitment? It is when the challenging time comes where this is tested. However even in our time of testing God is not going to give us more than we can bare and when it gets to the place where we cannot bare it any longer, he will give us a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13) Commitment and faithfulness is a choice and sometimes our situation do not make us feel happy, but that should not detract us from our commitments and stop us being faithful. Remember happiness depends on happenings, whereas joy is based on a knowledge of who is in control. Parallel Principles We are in an industry where many people sign up with little or no commitment, thinking things are just going to drop in their lap with little or no work. 95% of people will not be faithful to their business and that is why 95% of people who get involved will not make a significant income in the business. You see faithfulness is the requirement and fruitfulness is the reward. When people fill in their distributorship they need to fully understand what it is they are doing. They need to understand it is going to take work, they need to understand that not everything is going to go their way. They need to be prepared to learn some new skills and they need to understand that many people are going to say no to either the opportunity, product or both. If they understand that and they are prepared to go through the process, then they should sign the form, if they are not prepared to go through the process and be committed and faithful, then they are fooling themselves by signing the form. Nothing that is worthwhile having in life is going to come easy, so why should our businesses be any different? ******************************************* Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv *******************************************

I agree with your comparison Jason, Andrew Carnegie noted that 98% have a poverty mind set so it is easy to see why so few have anything to do with commitment - in marriage or business.
