The bible says that Satan is like a roaring lion, seeking who he can devour (1Peter 5:8). When a lion roars it can create so much fear in an animal that the animal is paralysed and cannot move. So when satan roars, what come out is temptation that taps into the lower nature of man, which renders him spiritual paralysed.
You see in order for us to defeat the enemy, we first have to defeat ourselves, the devil cannot force us to do anything, we choose to do the things we do. Nobody forced Adam and Eve to take of the fruit, they chose to:
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make wise, she took of its fruit, and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Once we defeat ourselves through our God given right to make choices, God then give us the strength to continue in that choice. However in order for that to happen, we have to give ourselves solely over to him:
Jas 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.
Jas 4:7 Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, double-minded ones.
Jas 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness.
Jas 4:10 Be humbled before the Lord, and He will lift you up.
We are in preparation for eternity and during this preparation we are going to face trials and tests. Things are not always going to go our way, but trials are sent to develop us, so that when we eventually get to eternity, we disserve to be there.
Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Being a Christian is not plane sailing, in fact when a person becomes a Christian things may prove to be more difficult in the choices that they make because before when they just did things and thought a certain way, which was just part of their life, now the Holy Spirit opens up their spiritual eyes and sin becomes exceedingly sinful to them:
Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Let it not be said! But I did not know sin except through the law. For also I did not know lust except the law said, You shall not lust.
Rom 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, worked in me all kinds of lust. For apart from law sin was dead.
Rom 7:9 For I was alive without the law once. But when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.
Rom 7:10 And the commandment, which was to life, was found to be death to me.
Rom 7:11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.
Rom 7:12 So indeed the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.
Rom 7:13 Then has that which is good become death to me? Let it not be! But sin, that it might appear to be sin, working death in me by that which is good; in order that sin might become exceedingly sinful by the commandment.
As we submit ourselves totally to God he then gives us all of the equipment we need in order to get through this time of testing no matter how hot it gets.
He gives us the right clothes to wear (Ephesians 6, The full armour of God)
He gives us the right weapons to us (Galatians 5, The fruits of the spirit)
He gives us the right car the drive (Hebrews 11, Faith)
He gives us the right keys to use (Romans 10, Prayer of salvation).
We are in a period of the Olympic Games, these athletes that are here did not just turn up! There had to go through tests and trials to be here. The way they got through the tests and trials was through their training and their commitment to the goal that they have to get that medal. Plus they had a coach.
That is a good parallel to eternity, the only way we are going to get there is through our own individual tests and trials and commitment, but we too have a coach and his name is Jesus, Yeshua the christ.
That is how to defeat the enemy, by having massive success in Jesus, but it start with your personal choice!
In your business there are going to be many enemies that you are going to have to defeat, but the biggest enemy of all is going to be yourself. If you cannot defeat yourself, you will not build this business.
Many people have come and gone in this business simply because they could not defeat themselves. All of the negative self talk that they gave themselves, all of the excuses that they had and held onto, all of the procrastination that they got involved in and all of the lies of others that they believed.
Everyone wants to get the eternity but not everyone is going to be willing to go through the process it takes to get there. Likewise in our business, everyone wants to be successful, but not everyone is going to be willing to go through the process of what it takes to be successful.
At the first few hurdles many people just give up, some people give up after many more hurdles, after working their business for a while. The saddest part in that scenario is that many times they give up just as they were coming to their breakthrough.
Defeating all of the external enemies is impossible if you cannot the defeat the internal one, but in order to do that you have to be:
Sold out to your own success
Have tunnel Vision
Take failure out of your vocabulary
Be people focused and not money focused
Be goal orientated
Have a good work ethic
Know the God is in control.
Remember your enemies are roaring, seeking to devour your business and if you let them, it was because that was your choice!
