There are many things in this life to distraction a person away from the things that they are meant to be doing. Satan uses these distractions to try and stop a person from growing spiritually, because if he can get us focusing on all of the wrongs things, being busy then he can get us to miss our true destiny.
A good acronym for busy is: B- bound U- Under S- Satan’s Y- Yoke As believers we have to be so careful not to get ourselves get so busy in other areas that we do not leave any time for God. All he gets is a bit of time in the morning and just before we go to bed at night, with a prayer in between just before we eat. We have to be constantly aware that we are in the presence of God and be excited to see what God is going to do in lives next. That hunger for God is the thing that is going to increase our experiences with him. As we know him more through his word, we will be directed more by his spirit. Being busy in church activities does not mean you know God more, it just means your time is filled up and there are many times where God just wants us to be still before him and just listen: Luk 10:38 And as they went, it happened that He entered into a certain village. And a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house. Luk 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. Luk 10:40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she came to Him and said, Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me. Luk 10:41 And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things. Luk 10:42 But one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. We can get so caught up in doing all of the wrong things, that we miss what God has for us. Our own activities can take our focus away from the truth, and this is why God always wants our activities to be backed up by the wisdom of God: Luk 10:19 Behold, I give to you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the authority of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luk 10:20 Yet do not rejoice in this, that the evil spirits are subject to you, rather rejoice because your names are written in Heaven. Luk 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in Spirit and said, I thank You, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the sophisticated and cunning, and have revealed them to babes. Yes, Father, for so it was pleasing before You. Even with all our activities, we need to understand that Wisdom is the principal thing and we should allow that wisdom to guide us. Lack of activity can also distract us from the truth: Being idle is the quickest way to poverty, be it spiritual or natural. I- In D- Denial L- Leading to E- Emptiness Some people may think that because they have accepted Jesus, that’s where it ends, they don’t need to go to church, or if they are in a church, they don’t need to get involved with the activities of the church. This is also a distraction, because as believers we have been called into Christian community and as part of the body of Christ, we have a role to play and God has given us gifts and talents to fulfil that. The more a person’s faith grows, the more active they we be: Jas 2:18 But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith from my works. Jas 2:19 You believe that there is one God, you do well; even the demons believe and tremble. Jas 2:20 But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? So the most important thing is that our activities are guided correctly with the right perspective. Parallel Principals In this business there is a danger that a person can get themselves caught up in activity, but all the wrong activity. Activity, that will eventually not make them money but cost them money. Activity, that will not make them relationships but cost them relationships. They can convince themselves that they are working hard at their business, but because they are doing the wrong activity, they are not being productive and as a result of that, their business does not grow. We have to be clear not to be distracted by the wrong things. One of the ways to avoid this is by utilising the system. The reason why the message of the system is so important is because it guided your activity. There are 7 elements to the system and if you are not using every element of the system when you have access to it, you are being distracted and your activity. Therefore from your business’s perspective you are being unproductive. You may go out and sponsor 7 MA’s in one month without using the system, but you are still being unproductive, because your new business partners will just do what they see you do. So even though you may get a cheque that month, your business life span is about 90 days before everything dries up. Understand that in building a Reliv business, the system is there to protect and expand your business, so do not be distracted from it by things or challenges that are placed before you. If you ever find yourselves making excuses why you cannot plug into any of the elements of the system, just remember the reason why you started in the first place and your focus back! **************************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ****************************************
