As Christian’s forgiveness is not an option, we are commanded to forgive, Jesus even incorporated it in the Lords Prayer when his disciples asked him to show them how to pray:
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. So it doesn’t matter how hard it is for us to forgive someone, we are commanded to do it. Mar_11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. God commands us to forgive because it takes true love to truly forgive someone and God wants us to be more like him. So forgiveness opens up the door for blessing, it also closes the door for the enemy to attack us. Sometimes we may feel justified in our reasons not to forgive, however our flesh or our lower nature will always find reasons not to obey God’s commands. Without forgiveness, there is anger and resentment and if you do not let things go, they build up and up and up, then before you know it, what started off as a mole hill, is now a mountain! Another result of unforgiveness is, you hand all power to the person you are not forgiving. So while they are getting on with their life and doing what they need to do, you cannot move on because you are so busy remembering the hurt that they did to you. Forgiveness releases you from the hurt. Jesus could have justified reasons why we should not be forgiven, after all, we crucified him and he was tortured before being nailed on the cross. However he knew without forgiveness we would all be lost and he loved us too much for that. So we need to get into the habit of forgiving on purpose releasing the power of God in our lives: Mat 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Mat 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. We are going to get challenged in this area all the time, because an unforgiving heart is a doorway for the enemy to come in and he is always looking for a way back in: Mathew 12 :43 – 45 “Whenever an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it wanders through waterless places looking for a place to rest but finds none. Mat 12:44 Then it says, ‘I will go back to my home that I left.’ When it arrives, it finds it empty, swept clean, and put in order. Mat 12:45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and settle there. And so the final condition of that person becomes worse than the first. There is a war going on for our souls, and the battle is in full swing, the enemy wants to Kill, Steal and Destroy you and me. However he cannot force us to do anything, he can only create the environment and then allow our lower natures to take it from there. However God has given us spiritual clothes and spiritual weapons to use in this battle and we have the confidence in the knowledge that we are fighting a defeated enemy, through Christ Jesus! So go out there and forgive on purpose, do not let the enemy have a foot hold in your life. Your power to forgive comes from the Holy Spirit as without him we can do nothing: Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Parallel Business Principals Building a Reliv is going to stretch you because we are not a business where you do not just sell cans, we provide a whole service. So the people who are in it just to sell cans will always struggle to build it. That is why we do not need personally 100’s of customers or distributors to build a large income. However during this process we are going to come across all kinds of different people with various characters. Many times people will do and say things that may offend us and make us upset and it is at these times that we need to operate in forgiveness, because if we don’t it will kill our businesses. Many times I think building this business causes us to check ourselves and our motives and we know whether not we are conducting ourselves in a way which God would be pleased with. God will honor those who honor and put him first, so stop worrying about the future and just get to work! ******************************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ********************************************
