This is such a significant time of the year for each and everyone of us who class ourselves as believers, because it is the time of the year where Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, washed away the sins of everyone who confesses him, once and for all.
Passover (NOT EASTER) was the event in HIS-STORY that changed everything.
In the Jewish calendar, just before Password is the Feast of Unleaven bread, where they are to remover all LEAVEN (Feast) from their house,
The Hebrew word for Leaven is:
From H2556; ferment, (figuratively) extortion: - leaven, leavened (bread).
This was following the command moses gave:
Exo 12:15 You are to eat unleavened bread for seven days. On the first day be sure to remove all the leaven from your houses, because any person who eats anything leavened from the first day until the seventh will be cut off from Israel.
Exo 12:16 Also, on the first day you’re to hold a holy assembly, and on the seventh day you’re to hold a holy assembly. No work is to be done during those days, except for preparing what is to be eaten by each person.
Exo 12:17 “‘You are to observe the Festival of Unleavened Bread, since on this very day I brought your tribal divisions from the land of Egypt. You are to observe this day from generation to generation as a perpetual ordinance.
Exo 12:18 In the first month, from the evening of the fourteenth day of the month until the evening of the twenty-first day of the month, you are to eat unleavened bread.
Exo 12:19 For seven days leaven is not to be found in your houses. Indeed, any person who eats anything leavened, is to be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether an alien or a native of the land.
Exo 12:20 You are not to eat what is leavened. You are to eat unleavened bread in all your settlements.’”
This was so important that if a person was found to have leaven I their house, they were cut off from Israel. Leaven was seen as a sign of corruption and they were preparing themselves for the deliverance from the corruption of Egypt.
This has so many parallels for us as believers, as through the acceptance of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, he has removed the corruption of sin from our lives and we are preparing to enter into our promised land and to be delivered from the corruption of this world.
They were to eat their Password meal ready to move with their clothes on, this was showing them that they had to be prepared to move. As Christians, we can not be so comfortable in this world that our focus is all down here, we have to be prepared to move.
All of the Passover meal had to be consumed that night, nothing left over. Jesus’s sacrifice was a one-time deal that is why on the cross he said IT IS FINISHED.
Every year as believers we should remember the Password because is the most important time of the year for us. We are not to get confused with all of the inaccuracies of Easter, which was a hold different festival all together.
Parallel Business Parallels
If we are to be successful, we have to be prepared for success and ready to work. Failure should never be an option for us and we should remove all doubt from our minds.
We should recognize that success would cause us to live in a whole new place and with success come new changes.
Being successful will cause us to have influence and God can use that to open doors to minister to people that we may not have had access to.
What is important is that once we are successful, we never forget what it took to get to where we are, so we can show others to get there also.
Success is a journey not a destination, so we will always be learning, therefore it is important that we are open to that.
