King Solomon said these very powerful words:
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 1 For everything there is a season, and a time for very purpose under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace This means in our lives there is time allocated for certain things and if we do the things at the allocated times then we will maximise our lives. The problem occurs when we do not do the things we are supposed to do, because the knock on effect is negative life experiences. So for instance, there is a time to study the word of God, but if you do not study then you do not know the promises God has made over your life. You do not know how to handle yourself in certain situations, you let the temptations of this world get to you. There is a time to hate, as believers we are to hate sin, because if we hate sin then we will move closer to God: 1John 2:15-17 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vain glory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever There is time to work, as believers we are not to be lazy, but we should demonstrate through our lives the principals of God. So is it right for a believer to be on benefits for 20 years when they have the strength to go out to work or the capacity to generate an income? 2 Thessalonians 3: 8-10 8 We did not eat anyone's food without paying for it. Instead, with toil and labor we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to any of you. 9 It is not as though we did not have that right, but, we wanted a to give you an example to follow. 10 While we were with you, we gave this order: "If anyone doesn't want to work, he shouldn't eat. There is something called seed time and harvest or sow and reaping and it is true whether or not you believe in it. You actions have consequences and those ripple effects can go on for a long time. In the bible we read about generational curses and a lot of the time these curses are just behavioural patterns and life style choices that have just been past on from generation to generation. So for instance: You have a family and everyone is over weight, then the next generation come out and they too are overweight. Now with that come other issues like diabetes and high blood pressure etc. You can look at that and give the excuse of genetics or you can be honest and understand the problem is not genetics, it is mechanics. Too much of the wrong foods and not enough exercise. Another example could be, one generation is always struggling financially and then next generation struggles financially followed by the generation after that. The reason is because, the poor financial attitudes towards money and how to develop it were just passed on. If we plant in the right areas then we will get a harvest according to our efforts. We do not labour in vain because God gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater. (Isaiah 55:10) In other words, God will give you the knowledge, resource and opportunity to proposer in all aspects of your life, so that you can be a blessing to others as well as being able to provide for your own needs. Many people stop doing the things they need to do just before their breakthrough, they get despondent and allow other voices in their head to change their focus. This is way as Christians we are to be directed by the Holy Spirit and operate in the fruits of the spirit, which are : Galatians 5: 22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, good ness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self- control. There is no law against such things So be patience, if you are planting right seed in the right areas you will get a right harvest. Parallel Principals In our business seed time harvest is such an important principle to understand, because unfortunately those people who do not understand it will always quit. We live in a microwave society where everyone wants things now, now, now, however our business model does not work like that. It takes time to mentor someone and establish leadership. It takes time to learn new skills in order to make you more valuable to someone else. It takes time to go through the lessons that shape you into a strong mentor. You see most people want the end result but they do not want the process and unfortunately they both go hand in hand. Reliv gives everyone the opportunity to change their situations, but does everyone who joins Reliv do that successful? No, and why? Because during that process they quit, it gets too difficult, so they think and it is just easier to quit. You cannot help quitters but you can help those with a strong enough desire to stick around. ******************************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ********************************************
