As believers it is so important that we place God in his rightful place, which is number one in our lives, that way we will stay in his perfect will. God is not going to force us to be obedient to him and his word, but he allows us to choose obedience. Even the angels in heaven have that choice.
One of the reasons why Satan tries the create the scenario’s that can cause a person to believe their own hype is because, pride was the thing that got him kicked out of heaven in the first place: Ezekiel 28:12-15 “Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you That original sin is the easiest sin to get people involved in, even people in the church, and the sad thing is many times the people cannot identify that this has them gripped. The bibles say: Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18) A person can class themselves as successful in this world, however if they are full of pride and arrogance at some point they will be brought low because God hates pride: Proverbs 6:16-19 What God Hates Here are six things that the Lord hates- seven, in fact, a are detestable to him: Arrogant eyes, a lying tongue and hands shedding innocent blood; a heart crafting evil plans, feet running swiftly to wickedness, a false witness snorting out lies, and someone sowing quarrels between brothers. King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon rule one of the most power empires ever he had everything he could have ever wanted, wealth, fame and notoriety. However he was full of pride and a prophet warned him if he continues in his pride, God would take it all always. He did not learn and his kingdom and throne was ripped from him for 7 years until he recognized that his throne and position was given to him by God himself, then he was restored. (You can read the full account in Daniel Chapter 4) One of the things my Pastor, Pastor Dennis Greenridge says is “Faithfulness is God’s requirement and fruitfulness is his reward” We should never loose focus and think it is all about us because if we do, we have just walked into the enemies camp and if we willingly walk into his camp, he has every right to attack us. If you are in a leadership position in your church or community, you are a target for the enemy because he knows you have a level of influence of people. So you have to kill the flesh on a daily basis because if you don’t, just like how Satan got kicked out of heaven and convinced a third of the angels in heaven to follow him, you will manipulate people because of your influence and cause many to fall with you. Parallel Business Principals In building a Reliv business there is the potential to make a lot of money and get a lot of recognition. If you are not mindful, you can start believing you own hype and before you know it, you think that without you people cannot be successful. You can start using your position to try and bully people, dictating to people what they can or cannot do. This is the danger of pride in our business. We have to understand that as upline, we cannot take the credit for someone else’s success, they will be successful because of them. In the same light though, we cannot carry the weight of someone’s failure, they will fail because of them! With anything that involves a large number of people, we constantly need to be asking God how to deal with various situations and asking him to help us perform correctly. In doing that we keep him in his rightful place, but we also have the confidence to know that our business is being directed by God and not us. Psalms 37: 23-25 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. ************************************************ Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ***********************************************
