In the scriptures we hear how God established his law to separate the children of Israel from any other nation because they were his chosen people. The Law was to give them direction and to constantly point them to him through stringent requirements often physical ones.
There were over 613 precepts of the mosaic law and if you broke one, you broke the whole law. 2Ch 33:8 Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses. Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. So their approach to God was one of legalism as their righteousness was dependent on their own efforts according to the law. This task was so great that it was pretty predictable, that people would be breaking the law of God constantly, because God was using to Law to show them that they could not live a righteous life outside of him, even with the best will in the world. However there was one coming that through him, ALL of the law would be FULLFILLED! Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. This is why every year the high priest would make a sacrifice for the himself first and then for the sins of the nation. However the blood of bulls and goats could not permanently remove sin, But there was another High Priest that was coming who blood could not only remove the sins of Israel, but could remove the sins of the whole world Jesus the Christ! Heb 9:11 But when Christ had become a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building Heb 9:12 nor by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered once for all into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh, Heb 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ (who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God) purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Now we as believers live under a new covenant that start by faith which leads to repentance, continues in faith which leads to sanctification (thats a big word! It just means living right and allowing the Holy Spirit to direct our lives showing us what to stop doing and what to start doing), and it ends in faith which means our lives at our time of death was pleasing to God, as the scripture says in the book of Hebrews: Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. SO now that we are saved, how does Jesus fulfil the whole of the previous law in our lives? The simple answer is by us allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us and you will know that you are being lead by the Holy Spirit because you will operate in and be demonstrating the FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT and these are: Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:23 meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Gal 5:24 But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. So the law was to lead people to the fulfilment and now that Jesus the fulfilment has come we no longer have to have a legalistic approach to God but we have a personal relationship with our heavenly Father made possible by the spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit who draws us into the personal relationship. This concept would be foreign to anyone who feels they can get to God by what they do because we are save by grace through faith: Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Parallel Principals One of the strongest principals I drew from this in regards to our Reliv business is the fact that we can not build this by ourselves. The way it has been structured is that those who recognise that they need help and are WILLING to submit themselves under the mentorship of someone else, will grow a Reliv business. During the process of building you WILL need to operate in the FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT in order to be success: love, The right motive joy, The right attitude peace, The right approach long-suffering, The right out look kindness, The right response goodness, Not being ashamed of what you have. faith, The vision meekness, Having no ego self-control, Responding and reacting Against these things no one can bring a accusation.
