As Christians we have the reassurance that we are saved because of the grace of God and the sealing of the Holy Spirit:
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 1:13 You, too, have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in the Messiah, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, Eph 1:14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until God redeems his own possession for his praise and glory. So we can be confident in that, we do not need to live lives unsure of the future. However this does not mean the journey to salvation is going to be an easy one. You see, being saved is one thing, obtaining salvation is something different. Mat 24:9 Future Persecution, Apostasy, and Evangelism (Mark 13:9-13; Luke 21:12-19) ¶ “Then they will hand you over to suffer [Or tribulation] and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations [Or gentiles] because of my name. Mat 24:10 Then many people will fall away, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Mat 24:11 Many false prophets will appear and deceive many people, Mat 24:12 and because lawlessness will increase, the love of many people will grow cold. Mat 24:13 But the person who endures to the end will be saved. In order to obtain salvation, you have to be consistent, persistent and determined. God knows everyone who is his; he has seen the end from the beginning. He knows whose people who are going to be faithful for 20 years and then fall away. He knows those people who will never make a decision for him and he knows those people who will endure to the end. Those people who fall away after 20 years were saved BUT they did not reach salvation. It is like getting into a boat in a river full of Parana, you are saved from the Parana, but you do not reach salvation onto you are on the shore. However a person can decide to jump back in the water. The thing that effects our actions the most is how we think, because how we think will determine how we perceive things and how we perceive things will determine our opinion of that thing. Once we have an opinion of a thing that will determine our attitude towards it and final our attitude toward it will determine our actions and what we do. This is why one of weapons of the Christians warfare is the Helmet of Salvation because the helmet of salvation is designed to protect your mind so that you can continue to think correctly. The last battleground is the mind and Satan will attack it constantly, so you have to protect it. Just because the enemy puts something in your mind, it does not mean you have sinned, it is only when you continue to contemplate the thoughts and then act on them, that you sin. One of the things my pastor says is “You cannot stop the birds from flying over your head, BUT you can stop them from nesting on your head” (Pastor Dennis Greenidge) Our minds are under attack but the helmet of salvation is our defense. Knowing the word for ourselves and feeding our mind the scriptures on a regular basis is so important. I am not talking about religiously reading a chapter a day, but actually thinking about the passage of scripture you have just read. This will effect how you live your life as you apply what you have read. If you consistently do that until the day you die, you will reach salvation. Some people believe in the concept of ‘Once saved always saved’ in the context that even if you do not live a right life before God, just because you made the initial decision to follow Christ, then you will make it to salvation. No, the way to salvation is narrow and straight, you can choose to jump out of the boat: Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. We need to protect our minds from the influences of the enemy in order to make it through this life successfully, so today put on the Helmet of Salvation so that you can make to right choices. Parallel Business Principals In order for you to be successful in Reliv it is going to boil down to how you think, if your mindset is not right then you will not do the things necessary to be successful. Just because someone starts on their Reliv journey does not mean they will finish it. Some people quit after 3 weeks, some after 3 months and some after 3 years. The journey to success in Reliv is Strait and narrow and only a few will find it, just like with anything else in life, it is just a global truth. People let other people effect their thinking, which stops their growth, some people can’t even be bothered to climb in the boat in the first place. Other people climb in moan for a bit, do nothing and then jump back out. The Reliv boat is big enough for everyone, but not everyone will climb in or stay in, but for those who do, they will reach the shore! *********************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ***********************************
