We meet every Monday morning to pray because we understand the power of prayer. Communication with our Heavenly Father is a privilege we have been given, not because we desire it, but because he loves us so much.
We lost that personal connection with God in the Garden of Eden when Adam sinned, but we got it back with the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross, which was the ultimate act of love: 1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Jesus the God Man, was our example, God became Man to show Man how to live, so that we can get back to him. Therefore as a man he had to go through a real human experience, as a result he had to take of his glory, (not his deity) to go through our experience: Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. This is why the Bible says he grew in wisdom, because as with every human being, our life experience causes growth. So for him to operate in the full power of his deity would mean that it would not be a real human experience: Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Everything Jesus did was as a result of prayer, he was in constant communication with the Father, this shows us that we need to be constant communication with the Father also. Many people see prayer as something they do to get brownie points with God or something they do to appease their conscience. However true prayer is our direct telephone line to God. It is not just take, take, take, prayer is our opportunity to give God praise for who he is, it is an act of worship. This means if you only speak to God when you want something, that is not a relationship. A prayer is not written out, a prayer is said from the heart. I have never read where Jesus wrote out a prayer, however I do read in Matthew and Luke that when Jesus was asked “How do we prayer” he give his disciples a structure to get them started. We read all through the bible about people who prayed and their prayer moved God’s hand: Joshua prayed and the Sun stood still so they could win the battle Joshua 10:13 Elijah prayed and life was given back to a child 1 Kings 17:21 Daniel prayed and was protected from hungry Lions Daniel 6 Gideon prayed for a sign from God to be certain of what to do Judges 6 The list is endless of examples of prayer in the Bible. In Ephesians 6 the part of our warfare clothes which is classed, as a weapon against the enemy is the word of God, so when we pray the word our prayer becomes a weapon. Our prayers are not prescribed, like we should pray 5 times per day, but our prayer life should spring out of a relationship we have with the Father. When the enemy tries to attack you, the 3 things he goes for is: 1. He tries to distract you from praying 2. He tries to distract you from reading your Bible 3. He tries to stop you from fellowshipping with other believers We need constant direction of what to do next and that will only come through prayer. Parallel Business Principals I truly believe that one of the reasons why Europe is growing the way it is, is because of corporates commitment to allowing us to have this prayer call and the worship services after every conference. I believe that God hears and understand our struggles as distributors and the struggles of corporate, and he has given those who have been prepared to work and be teachable, FAVOUR! Asking for help is not a weakness; it is a sign of humility, which is a strength. Those who try to build this business by themselves will fail every time. Those who are teachable and will allow the system to direct them, have a higher probability of success. So what is it that you are doing which is holding you back? What ever it is, CHANGE IT. Ask for help and be directed. ************************************************ Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ************************************************
