Who God Chooses
The answer to this question may surprise people because the way we look at things is far different from the way God looks at things. There is a statement I heard I visiting speaker say at my church yesterday and it is this: “Good doesn’t call the prepared, he prepares the called” This is such a powerful statement because it shows that God sees the potential in every single one of us, and allows us to make the choice to be one of the chosen Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. God has given us all a free will and because of that we have the right to make our own choices. I have lost count the number of times I have heard the statement: “If God was such a loving God, why would he send people to hell” However the reality of hell is, it is a choice people make, God calls everyone to be citizens of his kingdoms and people choose not to be part of the chosen: Deu 30:15 Destruction in Disobedience “Look, today I have set before you life and what is good, along with death and what is evil. Deu 30:16 That’s why I’m commanding you today to love the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by observing his commands, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live long, increase, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in the land that you are about to enter to possess. Deu 30:17 “But if you turn your heart away, and do not obey, but instead if you stray away to worship and serve other gods, Deu 30:18 I’m declaring to you today that you will surely be destroyed. You won’t live long in the land that you are crossing the Jordan River to enter and possess. Deu 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to testify against you today! I’ve set life and death before you today: both blessings and curses. Choose life, that it may be well with you—you and your children. Deu 30:20 Love the Lord your God, obey his voice, and cling to him, because he is your life—even your long life—so that you may live in the land that the Lord promised to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” As normal people, we tend to look at the external, where as God focuses on the internal. This is why when you look at the attitudes of this world; they are all so superficial and shallow. It is all about, who looks like this or who has that, focusing on, if you don’t like this about yourself, go under the knife a change this and change that. Very rarely is it about focusing on changing the internal aspects like having a better character, understanding your spiritual growth in the context of the one who created you. The reason for this is, the moment a person starts thinking like that, the enemy gets worried because they are breaking out of façade he has created and putting themselves in a potential place to understand the true meaning of life. So what does he do? He increases the distractions through entertainment, he creates false religion and Philosophies to mud the water and he keeps people in this safe cocoon away from the truth. Unfortunately, it is a cocoon people do not even realize they are in. This is why sometimes God has to allow certain things to happen in a person’s life that breaks the shell of that cocoon and exposes them to the truth. At that point the person can choose to break out of the cocoon or repair the shell. We were all in that cocoon at some point but as believers we chose to break out of the shell. Remember God prepares the called. This is why, now that we are out of the shell, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! We no longer have to focus on the external and superficial, but we can focus on the internal and eternal. Understand this, God wants us to have a good life, while we are here, but he also wants us to have a meaningful Kingdom driven life while we are here as well. You may think God cannot use you to do XYZ because of your past, however God looks at things differently and says “I will use you to do XYZ because of your past!” Remember the people looking at Saul and chose Saul to be king because he was taller and more handsome then anyone else. However God chose David a shepherd boy, insignificant in his family, ruddy to look at. How the interesting thing is, even though he was called and anointed to be king, God prepared him for about 20 years before he actually sit on the throne and ruled. So what has God called you to and are you willing to go through the preparation. Parallel Business Principles I truly believe that anyone has the potential to be successful in Reliv but not everyone will, simply because of the choices they make. You see when we tell someone about Reliv, it is like they are being called. If they decided to either buy the product or join the business, they have answered the call. As customers if they allow us to do correct follow up with them and they get results on the product, they are now part of the chosen. Also if they join the business and are teachable, have a good ethic and are consistent with they activity, also able to apply longsuffering to their business with regards to the length of time it will take to build it, then they will also be part of the chosen. So, my question to you is “now that you are called, are you prepared to good through the preparation and be part of the chosen? ************************************************* Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv *************************************************
