There are many reasons why we worship, but I think the main reason is because of who God is. When we really think about who God is and how powerful he is, how could we not worship him.
It really helps us to put our lives in the right perspective when we understand who God is. I remember one of the things that caused me to come to faith was just looking up at the sky at night, seeing all of the stars and saying to myself, “all of this is not just an accident”. There are many titles for God in the Bible, the one I like the most which I personally think encompasses every eventuality I can think of is, “EL SHADDAI” God, the all sufficient one. There is nothing too big or too small for God, he is more than able to come through for us. I think many times when people doubt God it is because they are trying to bring God down to their level. However as a person’s faith grows, as they read and understand God’s word more, they begin to put him back in his rightful place, which is Lord of ALL! Whether it is healing, provision or protection, God, is more than able, when things seem impossible to man, God is able. God wants our attention and sometimes we get so caught in our lives that God has to allow something to happen in order to get our attention. God loves us so much that even if he needs to change the very nature of something in order to get our attention the moment he needs it, he will: Number 22:25 – 33 And when the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she pushed against the wall and pressed Balaam's foot against the wall. So he struck her again. Then the angel of the Lord went ahead and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right or to the left. When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam. And Balaam's anger was kindled, and he struck the donkey with his staff. Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” And Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have made a fool of me. I wish I had a sword in my hand, for then I would kill you.” And the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey, on which you have ridden all your life long to this day? Is it my habit to treat you this way?” And he said, “No.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, with his drawn sword in his hand. And he bowed down and fell on his face. And the angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to oppose you because your way is perverse before me. The donkey saw me and turned aside before me these three times. If she had not turned aside from me, surely just now I would have killed you and let her live. God knows how to get our attention. We should understand that everything in this universe and all the rest of the other countless universes belongs to God and yet in all of this greatness that we can’t really truly comprehend in size and depth, God loves us so much that he would die for us. When we think about things on that level how could we not worship him! We can be so arrogant thinking our lives and agenda’s are so important that God needs to fit into it, instead of us fitting our lives into God’s agenda. We even justify our actions by saying “God knows my heart”. Well in one sense we are right, God does know our heart and it is desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). What ever we put before God no matter how much we justify it, is an idol and God hates idolatry. As a race of people and I mean the human race because there is only one race of people on this planet! We have rebelled against almighty God and we need to repent. Every time we present to God an alternate way of worshipping him, we repeat the sin of Cain over and over again. God only accepts one way of worshipping him and that is the way HE stipulated. So all roads do not lead to God, only one road does and the rest lead to hell! So we serve a God who has rescued us from ourselves, this is why we have to die to ourselves on a daily basis, so that God can be gloried in our lives. So for those willing to do that what almighty God has promised us is beyond our comprehension: 1 Corinthian 2:8 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him Parallel Business Principals If you understand how big God is, then why do you worry about building your Reliv business? God is more than able to bring the right people to you, he is more than able to touch people’s hearts about the product and the business BUT what is it that you are doing or NOT doing, that is causing your business not to grow. I truly believe God uses our business to teach us life lessons like, patience, persistency, consistency, gentleness, goodness, meekness, basically the fruits of the spirit. So many people are so super spiritual that they miss this and when their business does not happen as quick as they would like, they just leave without learning the lessons God intended them to learn. Then they super spiritualise their reason for leaving by saying “It was not my calling!” Give me a break! It is a Business Opportunity! However, God is so gracious that those lessons they needed to learn, he will just use some other vehicle to teach them. This is why we worship him.
