As Christians we understand that our sins have been washed away by the cleansing blood of Jesus. His sacrifice paid the price for our sin, a price that none of us could afford. This is why salvation is not dependent on what we do, it is dependent on what Jesus did.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. This does not mean that we do not have a responsibility to live right before God. When God saved us he called us into a personal relationship with him and with any relationship, it starts at a point and it grows with time. If a person is not growing in their relationship with God, then they are not in a relationship with God, they are not saved, because a result of being saved is a relationship. We need to work out our relationship with God on a daily basis, some days we will feel closer to God than others, but everyday we should recognize that we are in a relationship we our heavenly father: Philippians 2:12-13 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Many people try to look holy by being religious, so in front of people it’s “Amen” and “Praise the Lord” and yet behind closed doors it is “!”@♯!” They are at church every Sunday, but fornicate on Monday. They could even hold a position in the church and because of their position feel that they are better than the congregation or even use their position to exploit the congregation. However Paul was saying to the church at Philippi, it is pointless to just act the part, you have to BE the part. When Paul said to “workout the salvation with fear and trembling” he understood that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10) and wisdom and knowledge work well together. Our relationship with God will grow as we grow and our personal growth will be determined by how much of the word we apply into our lives. When we get saved, we make that initial decision but we still have issues to deal with, we still think a certain way and this is why the first thing God has to focus on is our minds, because “As a man thinks in he heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7) We need to be transformed in our minds because as this happens everything else will fall into line. So working out our salvation is not doing good works to get to heaven, because nothing we would do could ever be good enough. It is about working out our relationship with our heavenly father on a day-to-day basis. Once we are doing that, we will have the confidence to know our heavenly daddy will always come through for us. Parallel Business Principals As people building a business, we need to grow personally, we need to learn more about people, we need to change the way we think. One of the things I do with my distributors is, I have created a training site and on the site there are a number of video’s of inspiring motivational stuff to do with our industry. Why I did that is because a new distributor needs to change the way they think, because if they do not, eventually they will quit. They have to work out their “WHY”, everyday day or else they will not even get active. It is pointless acting like a distributor at a special event or conference; you have to be a distributor in the field on a day-to-day basis. Our driving force in building this business should be to see people helped in either health or finances or both, so if we change our thinking to that, then we will never have to worry about making an income with Reliv, the money will be there. ************************************ Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv ************************************
