It is now 2010 and another year is beginning, we do not know what this year is going to hold, but we do know who holds the year. At this time of the year many people start making new year resolutions, most of which will be forgotten by March-April. However rather than making New Year resolutions, as Christians we should write down the goals and expectations we have for the coming year. We need to make them plain and start working towards them. Working towards goals is an important part of the Christian walk and is a biblical principal which can be found throughout the scriptures:
Hab 2:2 And Jehovah answered me and said, Write the vision, and make it plain on the tablets, that he who reads it may run. Hab 2:3 For the vision is still for an appointed time, but it speaks to the end, and it does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it; because it will surely come. It will not tarry Writing your goals down helps you to solidify them and bring them forth, God knows this and that is why when he was establishing Israel as a nation, he gave them his written law. However the goal of the Law was just to bring people to knowledge of his son Jesus, who fulfilled every letter of Law which, was God’s goal: Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. God’s goal was fulfilled in Christ Jesus, but he first had to write it down! Paul understood about working to towards goals: Php 3:13 My brothers, I do not count myself to have taken possession, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things before, Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Php 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be of this mind. And if in anything you are otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this to you. Paul was saying working toward goals is important as a form of self development and if anyone thinks they can get through life successfully without setting goals for themselves, he said he prayed God would reveal this truth to them. The Children of Israel had a goal to reach the promised land, but because of the personal development that needed to take place before they got there, it took them 40 years. Also because many of them refused to develop, out of the original people who set out on the journey, only 2 people made it in. Even Moses who guided them for all those years, who was the one God used to bring them out of slavery, because he let the people get to him, he could only look into the promise land, but did not enter in: Deu 34:1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab to the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah that is opposite Jericho. And Jehovah showed him all the land of Gilead, to Dan, Deu 34:2 and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, to the furthest sea, Deu 34:3 and the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, to Zoar. Deu 34:4 And Jehovah said to him, This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, I will give it to your seed. I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there. Deu 34:5 And Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the Word of Jehovah. Never let people’s attitudes effect you so much that you take yourself out of the promises God has for your life! 2010 is going to be a year of development and enhancement, for those who are willing to develop and enhance. God has given us the hope of eternal life, so our goal should be to get there. This goal is going to take us on a journey, which is going to involve moving away from sin, in fact hating sin and pressing towards God and his righteousness. Is the journey going to be easy? No. However, is it going to be worth it? Absolutely YES! So what are going to be your goals for 2010? Parallel Principals I am sure already you have seen the parallels between what I have said so far and what needs to be applied to your everyday life including your Reliv business. If you have no goals for your business, your business is not going to grow. If you have goals but do not write them down then the likelihood is you are not going to fulfil them. Many people set out on journeys’ and many people quit during the journey, if your goals are not strong enough, then you will quit. Many people who quit have helped people into the business, who had strong desires and who have excelled in the business. The person who quit, will never reap the rewards of that person. So have a plan in 2010 and work the plan, use the Reliv system and take a hold of your success. Remember what God said in the book of Deuteronomy, if you are faithful to him, everything that you put your hand to will be blessed. ****************************************************** Jason Gregory Business Coach & Mentor Reliv International ******************************************************
