Last week we spoke about the fact that there are two elements that make a person truly successful in this life and they are Personal Growth and People Skills. Well last week we dealt with Personal Growth, so now let’s look at People Skills.
As Christians we are ALL called to do the work of the Evangicalist, which is part of the great commission. This involves dealing with people, so if you have no understanding about people, you will not be that effective at evangelism. Many people don’t do it because they think, that is for some people but not every person. WRONG! We are ALL called to do the work of the evangelist to some degree.
Remember the bible says in Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
So wisdom should tell you that you need to share the gospel because we are living in a dying world however, at that point you should then start to develop the skills of how to communicate to different types of people in different situations.
Many times Christians are sincere in their desire to see the lost saved but they are completely wrong in their approach and many times instead of drawing people to Christ, they push them away. However we need to develop people skills so we can be effective in this area and it all starts with LOVE. “And love your neighbour as yourself”. (Luke 10:27)
When you truly love people, you will learn how to connect with people.
The apostle Paul understood this:
1Co 9:19 For though I am free from all, yet I have made myself servant to all, so that I might gain the more.
1Co 9:20 And to the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might gain the Jews. To those who are under the Law, I became as under the Law, so that I might gain those who are under the Law.
1Co 9:21 To those who are outside Law, I became as outside Law (not being outside law to God, but under the Law to Christ), so that I might gain those who are outside Law.
1Co 9:22 To the weak I became as the weak, so that I might gain the weak. I am made all things to all men, so that I might by all means save some.
People skills will open doors for you that you cannot imagine. People skills allows you to present your body a living sacrifice that is Holy and acceptable onto God and present it in such a way that it brings about conviction in others by the power of the Holy Spirit just by watching your conduct. As you learn people skills, you understand what would causes a certain type of person to fall and what would not, so you avoid certain things:
1Co 8:1 But concerning the sacrifices to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies.
1Co 8:2 And if any man thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.
1Co 8:3 But if any one loves God, he has been known of him.
1Co 8:4 Then concerning the eating of the things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except one.
1Co 8:5 For though there are those who are called gods, whether in Heaven or in earth (as there are many gods and many lords),
1Co 8:6 but there is to us only one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we by Him.
1Co 8:7 But this knowledge is not in all. But some being aware of the idol eat as an idolatrous sacrifice until now, and their conscience being weak is defiled.
1Co 8:8 But food does not commend us to God. For neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse.
1Co 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumbling block to those who are weak.
1Co 8:10 For if anyone sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol temple, will not the weak one's conscience be lifted up so as to eat things sacrificed to idols?
1Co 8:11 And on your knowledge the weak brother will fall, he for whom Christ died.
1Co 8:12 And sinning in this way against your brothers, and wounding their conscience, being weak, you sin against Christ.
1Co 8:13 Therefore, if food offends my brother, I will eat no flesh forever, that I do not offend my brother.
We should always consider others in our actions.
1Co 6:12 All things are lawful to me, but not all things profit. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
1Co 6:13 Meats for the belly and the belly for meats, but God shall destroy both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord is for the body.
So increase you understanding about people and you will help to win more souls for the kingdom.
In Reliv we all know that we have an excellent products, however as business builders our true product is not our nutrition, our TRUE product is PEOPLE. That is why to be truly successful in this Reliv business, you have to develop PEOPLE SKILLS. If you do not develop these skills, you will just be a person that retails a bit of product.
We are in the business of changing people’s lives and we want to change as many people’s live as possible and we can not do it by ourselves and that is why we need to recruit other people with a similar passion to join us in our teams, so that together we can make a difference to many people.
That is why you always hear, “Lead with the business but validate it with the product”
To do this effectively it is going to take people skills. When dealing with difficult customers and distributors, it is going to take people skills.
When doing effective follow up, it is going to take people skills.
When inviting to a Tuesday or Saturday meeting, it is going to take people skills
When getting someone to speak to your upline, it is going to take people skills
And when helping someone improve their health or their finances, it is going to take people skills!
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

When Jesus was asked which of the commandment were the most important, this was his reply:
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Jesus in this answer was showing us the path to success in every area of our lives and that involves, Personal Growth and People Skills.
As the scripture says in Proverbs 4:7
Pro 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
So what is wisdom?
Psa 111:10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; all practicing them have good understanding; His praise stands forever.
As we have the right reverential fear of God in our lives, that establishes wisdom in our lives. We will not live any how, or do what we please because of our awareness that God is omnipresent, everywhere, seeing all things:
Pro 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
This is why God tells us in Philippians 2:12 that we should work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.
We are all responsible for what we choose to apply from scripture and what we choose to reject, or even if we choose to learn the biblical principals in the first place.
However as we do, we build up our personal relationship with God, which causes personal growth. We get renewed in our minds, we become new creations, all things are passed away and all things become new. Without this personal growth by having a true intimate relationship with your creator, you stay stuck in a rut, reacting to things instead of responding, getting confused as you look inwardly, getting distracted as you look outwardly, instead of getting directed as you look upwardly.
All of the things in scripture is there for a person’s personal growth,. Just as earthly parents have the major influence in their children’s personal growth, God also has the main influence on his children’s personal growth.
And please don not believe that every human being is God’s child, the scriptures are very clear as to who his children are:
Joh 8:42 Jesus said to them, If God were your father, you would love Me, for I went forth and came from God; for I did not come of Myself, but He sent Me.
Joh 8:43 Why do you not know My speech? Because you cannot hear My Word.
Joh 8:44 You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.
True Children of God
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
So personal growth is caused by being directed by our heavenly father, if we are being directed by anything else, it means we are being groomed by the spirit of the age, which is Satan, our enemy.
I have dealt with Personal growth this week, next week I will be dealing with the second element to a successful life, which is People Skills.
A person who thinks they are going to grow a strong Reliv Business without any personal growth is kidding themselves. Personal growth is the very thing that will cause your business to grow.
The system is designed to allow for this personal growth through the right direction. As a person amerces themselves in the Reliv System, they position themselves in the right soil for growth.
Different skills are going to be learnt and existing skills are going to be enhanced.
The duplication of the mentoring is going to cause that person to become a mentor and the repetition of the information, will cause that person to internalise the information.
Because our business is all about helping people, if that is your true motive, you will stretch yourself and have personal growth.
The people who can not be bothered with personal growth, they are in the business for a while but eventually they Quit!
So allow yourselves to grow personally and see what God will do in your business.

We are in an amazing position as Christians, in that we have in our hands to good news of eternal life. We live in a world where everyday, people are dying and going to a lost eternity, so we have a duty to share this good news.
There are people who think it is ok as a Christian not to witness, because they do not want to offend anyone, so they hide their Christianity and just try to blend in.
Then there are others who cannot have a normal conversation with anyone without trying to ram scripture down their throat or their language is what I call Christianeese and the other person is just baffled.
If we have a passion for the lost we will always operate in love but at the same time use WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING.
Pro 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
We have been mandated by Jesus to fulfil the great commission which is:
Mar 16:15 And He said to them, Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.
Mar 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:
So we are to witness our faith, but we are also to be an effective witness that draws people to Christ and not pushes people away. If you just sit back in your Christianity you are not fulfilling the mandate given to you when you became a Christian.
Jesus was our perfect example and showed us how to get the message of the gospel out in the best way. He knew as individuals, we were physically limited in what we can do, so we needed a way which did not just involve any one individual.
This is the power of multiplication. Jesus shared with many people but only 12 put themselves in a position to be mentored. Out of those 12, 1 turned completely against him and in a very testing time the others disserted him. However the 11 did return and through their mentoring 1 was added to replace the one who had betrayed Jesus. Through these 12 men passing on the teaching of Jesus, the gospel, the good news spread wide across the world, down the centuries.
This could not have happened if those people did not have a passion for the lost, but because they did have a passion for the lost, they just duplicated what Jesus had taught them, to other people, who then did the exact same thing.
We are not to hide our light under a bushel, but we are to let our light shine before men.
If we fulfil the great commission and not just make converts to Christianity but disciples, then many more souls will be saved, as everyone has different gifts and talents and you do not know who or what the next person you witness to is going to do for the kingdom.
I am sure you can already see the parallels in the great commission and what we do when building our Reliv build business.
We should always be ready to speak about Reliv because there are people out there hurting in their health and in their finances.
If you just stay at home and eat your product at your discount level, you are taking away hope from many people who could have benefited from the news about Reliv.
The reason why we recruit other business partners is because, we physically can only do so much, however as a team of passionate people focused on helping others, we can change the world.
Are people going to drop out? Yes
Are people not going to work? Yes
Are people going to be negative? Yes
Will people accept the message?, absolutely yes!
You never know who the next person you meet is or what they will do.
Remember you do not need a lot of people to be successful within Reliv, but you do need the right people.
So commit your ways unto God and he will direct your path.
