Pressing On Through Difficult Times
The one thing that we can guarantee about this life is it is going to be challenging and when a person decides to become a Christian, those challenges increase. Even though we have the Holy Spirit to guide us, it is still our choice whether or not we are going to listen to his voice. Many times what the Holy Spirit convicts us of, goes against our fleshly desires and many times because of that, we start to justify why are doing something or we even ignore the Holy Spirit all together. This is why as a Christian we need to die to the flesh on a daily basis: Rom 8:13 for if you live according to flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live. Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. In order for us to live obedient lives, we need to press through the wall of desire that our flesh throws up. A quick example is, how many times has God given you the desire to get up in the morning to pray, but because when that alarm goes off and the bed and sleep are feeling so sweet, you justify pushing that snooze button, again and again and again. We need to press through. God has placed each and every one of us on an individual journey in this life because he has a plan to fulfil within us, but in order for us to fulfil that plan, we have to press through: Eph 2:10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them. Our faith will get tested and the time when we know how strong our faith really is, are in times of testing: Dan 6:5 Then these men said, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the Law of his God. Dan 6:6 Then these presidents and rulers assembled to the king, and said this to him: King Darius, live forever. Dan 6:7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, and the officials and governors, have planned together to establish a royal law, and to make a strong ban that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except from you, O king, he shall be thrown into the den of lions. Dan 6:8 Now, O king, establish the ban and sign the writing, so that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians which cannot be changed. Dan 6:9 Therefore King Darius signed the writing and the ban. Dan 6:10 And when he had learned that the document was signed, Daniel went to his house. And his windows were open in his roof room toward Jerusalem; and he kneeled on his knees three times a day and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before. Where is your faith today, if it were against the law to be a Christian, would you buckle or would you press through? You see it is easy to have church when nothing is going wrong, but what about the suffering church, who risk their lives on a daily basis just to have fellowship with one another. For those of you who know bible prophecy, know that the time is coming very soon that all of our faith is going to be tested. So we need to prepare ourselves from now and learn through the Holy Spirit how to press through: Php 3:13 My brothers, I do not count myself to have taken possession, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things before, Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. The thing I love about God are the promises he gives for those people who are willing press through the difficult times: 1Co 2:9 But as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard," nor has it entered into the heart of man, "the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." Parallel Principals The thing which we can guarantee about building our Reliv businesses is, there are going to be challenges. This is why anyone who decides to build their business needs to prepare themselves for that. Building anything new that you have never built before always requires effort and involves a learning curve. For those who press through, the rewards are great, but many shall fall away during the process. When I look at the earlier church, the gospel message was spread not by the masses, but by a remnant of people who were willing to press through, during extremely difficult times. The same is true about our business, it will not be built by the masses, so do not beat yourself up when people quit and decide it is not for them. Your business is going to be built by a remnant of people who are willing enough and have a strong desire to press on through difficult times. Even when people try to speak against our industry, we press on. Even when people try to speak against our product we press on. Even when people try to speak against our company we press on. For those who do, the lives we affect and the rewards we get are immense. *************************************************** Jason Gregory, Mentor and Coach.
